Latest Updates

6 March 2024

We have completed work on the section of Awarua Street outside the Elsdon Foodmarket.

Work is commencing in January 2024 and expected to continue until July 2024.

Hours of work will generally be between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday with work on Saturday if required.

There will be some temporary restrictions to on-street car parking. Contractors will do their best to keep residents advised of which section of road will be affected by the following day’s work, and where to avoid parking. As the work progresses, around June 2024 there will be brief water shutdowns. Residents will be notified of the details nearer the time.

Your assistance in avoiding parking in the intended work zone will help us to get the work done as quickly as possible.

In 2022 a project assessing the state of the network, the Three Waters Renewals Project, identified a number of pipes that have reached the end of their design life or have been given a low condition grade.

The renewal of these pipes is being fast-tracked.

This is part of our ongoing work to improve the delivery of safe drinking water to homes and businesses,  and to reduce the risk of emergency repairs and/or outages and minimise risks to public health and the environment.
