Titahi Bay water pipe renewals
On behalf of Porirua City Council, we are renewing nearly 7 kilometres of drinking water main pipes over the next two years in Titahi Bay.
If you have any questions about this work, please contact:
Wellington Water, 04 912 4400
This major pipe renewal programme will be happening in three stages. The first stage is in Keith Hart Grove and Moult Street, from December 2023.
Our contractors will be working to minimise disruption and will keep people informed.
We’ll provide updates on further stages as the timing is confirmed.
Safe and reliable drinking water is vital.
Across Titahi Bay, Wellington Water is upgrading the existing aging drinking water network to deliver a more reliable supply of safe drinking water to homes and businesses. Many of the pipes are 60 to 70 years old and in poor condition.
These pipes are under public land so there will be no impact on private property.
When the work is underway, water supply will be disrupted for short periods only – when disconnecting and reconnecting supply. We will be in touch in advance to let you know when this is happening.
The works will temporarily disrupt road users and some parking and property access may be affected.
Traffic management will be in place to ensure the safety of our crews, the public and pedestrians. And we will work with any affected residents and business to minimise these impacts.
We acknowledge that this may be disruptive, and we appreciate your understanding as we carry out this essential work.
