The short outfall is discharged untreated, unscreened wastewater into Tarakena Bay between 11.38 am and 12.44 pm on 7 June.

Following a series of bursts in 2021 and 2023, we are upgrading the Aro Street ridermain, a pipe which provides drinking water to the south side properties on Aro Street. 

 

This project will increase the resilience of the drinking water network and reduce the risk of further bursts and leaks. 

 

Investigations are currently underway to finalise the design and timeframes for this project.
