Mana Esplanade wastewater remediation project
Wellington Water, on behalf of Porirua City Council, will soon be working to address the wet weather overflows along Mana Esplanade.
If you have any questions about this work, please contact:
Wellington Water, 04 912 4400
Construction works will be starting from the 12 January 2026 on the road outside the Presbyterian Church. This will require a temporary closure of the parking lane on the southbound clearway.
Our works will then progress further south along Mana Esplanade, with traffic management in place as the work proceeds to ensure the safety of staff and the public.
The project is expected to be completed by 5 February 2026.
As part of this work, the Plimmerton roundabout/ James Street pumpstation will be shut down from 9.00am and 2.30pm on Tuesday 13 January 2026. This will require wastewater to be trucked to Paremata pump station while the new pipes are being installed. This work will not disrupt your wastewater services.
