BOIL WATER NOTICE - THOMPSON STREET, MOUNT COOK
BOIL WATER OUTAGE - THOMPSON STREET, MOUNT COOK

Wellington Water advises that residents of all properties on Thompson Street, Mt Cook, must boil their water before it is used for drinking, food preparation or dental hygiene.

Once the  burst pipe on Thompson Street is repaired, there is a low risk that the water has been contaminated with bacteria. The bacteria can be killed by boiling which is why a boil water notice has been issued as a precaution.

We will advise once the repair is completed and water service has been restored. This boil water notice is in effect from 2pm Friday 13th June 2025 until further notice.

Renewal works of drinking water pipes in Gloucester Street, Porirua commenced on 29 April and we expect to have it completed at the end of June.

Hours of work are between 7 am - 5 pm from Monday to Friday.

We will be carrying out the upgrade in three stages. Traffic management through these stages will vary with a majority of the works completed under a one-way closure with detour. However, two lane diversions and manual traffic controller operations will be required for works across Mungavin Avenue.

We apologise for this inconvenience and will try to keep access open to properties where it is possible to do so. However, there will be stages where there will be some restriction.

There will also be some on-street parking restrictions at stages along Gloucester Street. We will work to keep these to a minimum. We ask you to please not park your vehicle within the coned areas. This will help us get our work done safely and as quickly as possible.
