Health and safety

Our vision is to ensure our people, suppliers and affected parties go home healthy and safe. Our aim is to apply a consistent approach to on-site health and safety across the Wellington region.

Wellington Water requires all contractors and consultants to meet the Tōtika prequalification scheme standard. Tōtika is overseen by the Construction Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (CHASNZ). Tōtika recognises Safe365Impac, and SHE PRE-Qual pre-qualification assessments, with more likely to be added in future. CHASNZ has more information.

Site-specific health and safety plans also need to be approved before any contractor occupies a site.
