EXTENDED WATER OUTAGE - BROOKLYN
EXTENDED WATER OUTAGE - BROOKLYN
While repairs were underway, crews discovered an additional crack in the pipeline. This needs to be fixed safely before water can be restored, which has extended the outage.

We acknowledge the disruption this has caused and are working at pace to resolve this. Water tankers are on site for essential needs at 45 Connaught Street. We'll have staff door knocking and arranging for bottled water to be delivered to homes if necessary.

Portaloos have been arranged and will be onsite at approximately 7 pm. Addresses to be notified.

Thank you for your patience — we know this is a difficult time of day to be without water, and we really appreciate your understanding

Our team is working as quickly as possible, and we’ll update you again as soon as water restoration is close. Further updates will be provided as we progress with the repair.

Wellington Water announces acting Chief Executive

The Wellington Water Board has appointed Tonia Haskell as acting Chief Executive.

Board Chair Lynda Carroll says Tonia’s appointment follows the appointment of current Chief Executive Colin Crampton as inaugural Chief Executive of Entity C, one of the new water services entities.

“Tonia has been heading the Network Development and Delivery Group at Wellington Water for the last five years,” says Lynda.

“Tonia brings her extensive knowledge of the company along with her strong leadership to the role.  She will manage the immediate transition from Colin’s leadership over the next little while to effectively support our people and ensure our council owners, iwi mana whenua, customers and the public continue to receive safe and reliable water services in the Wellington region.”

“I’m pleased to take up the role of acting CE for Wellington Water and would like to thank Colin and the Senior Leadership Team for their support,” says Tonia.

“My focus as acting CE is to provide our organisation with consistency and stability, and to support the Board as they work through the process to find a fixed-term CE for Wellington Water.”

The Board will also be undertaking a recruitment process over the coming weeks to appoint a fixed-term CE for Wellington Water.

“I want to thank Colin for his leadership and work over the last eight years at Wellington Water. Colin has demonstrated his outstanding leadership skills as he led this company from its inception to what it is today, a mature and valued operation delivering services in a complex environment. The Board is proud of what he’s achieved for the region and wish him every success at Entity C,” says Lynda.
