Severe weather conditions may impact the network

Due to severe weather conditions forecasted from today, 30 April until Friday 2 May, there may be impacts on the network,

Heavy rain increases the chance of excess stormwater entering the wastewater network, which it doesn’t have capacity for. This means there is a higher risk of wastewater overflows during wet weather events or emergencies such as major power cuts.

Our operations team are checking known risk areas and working to ensure that the stormwater network will be running as smoothly as possible.

Boil Water Notice lifted for Point Howard

Wellington Water advises that the Boil Water Notice for Point Howard has been lifted.

The public network has been flushed and tested. Residents supplied by a privately owned water tank should undertake flushing - this is important before use.

Returning Point Howard residents who vacated their property during the week, should run a cold tap to flush their pipes and any appliances e.g., coffee machines, which are connected to the water supply.

Hot water cylinders and header tanks may need to be drained and refilled.

Wellington Water thanks all residents for their patience and co-operation this past week.
