Wellington Water Board appoints new Chair
Bill Bayfield has been appointed as Chair of the Wellington Water Board after the departure of Nick Leggett.
“On behalf of the Wellington Water Board, I would like to thank Nick for his valuable contribution and leadership over the past few years during his time as Chair,” says Bill.
“The Wellington Water Board remains committed to the smooth transition of our hard working and capable people to Tiaki Wai on 1 July, the ongoing maintenance of the region’s water networks and, of course, the recovery and repair of the Moa Point Wastewater Treatment Plant.”
With extensive experience in regional and central government, Bill brings a wealth of knowledge in water management and organisational management and performance.
Bill was appointed to the Board in September 2023 and will take on the role as Board Chair effective immediately.
