Wainuiomata Water Treatment Plant undertaking an upgrade to improve fluoride service

Due to a maintenance upgrade, the Wainuiomata Water Treatment Plant will be temporarily switching off fluoride service next week.

This planned upgrade is expected to take a week to complete.

The upgrade will improve the accuracy of fluoride dosing control across all the plant’s functions and systems.

Wainuiomata residents concerned about the temporary loss of fluoride service or seeking guidance on where to access fluoride tablets, should visit the Health New Zealand or New Zealand Dental Health Association websites.

During the maintenance upgrade, Wellington City’s fluoride service will continue and be sourced from the Gear Island, Waterloo, and Te Marua Treatment Plants.
