Wastewater upgrade Papawai, Pah, Hecklers Road and Gregs Lane

What's happening?

Wellington Water will soon be upgrading the wastewater pipes and manholes running along Papawai and Pah Road, onto Gregs Lane to the wastewater treatment plant.

Wastewater networks are designed to be able to carry four to five times more water than the average daily flow, so that it can cope with extra water, for example when it rains. The wastewater pipes in your area are reaching capacity, and we need to replace them to support current and future growth and reduce the risk of overflows in Greytown. See map below:

This is scheduled to take place from: 7am – 6pm Monday to Saturday, 3 May 2021

The upgrade is scheduled to finish on 23 December 2021.

Most of the pipe replacement work will be completed using a trenchless method, this means we only need to dig in some areas. However, some sections on Pah Road and Gregs Lane must be done by digging a trench. All works will be staged to minimise impact and so that you can still access your property.

We ask that you avoid parking vehicles on the grass berms (alongside the road) when we’re working near your property. This will help us to get our work done as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions about this project or for regular updates on the work, please visit the ‘Work in your Area’ section on the Wellington Water website www.wellingtonwater.co.nz or please contact:
