Update 7 August

As part of our watermain renewal project, a temporary shutdown is required to connect the new water main that will be servicing Bath Street to the existing network. This means that water supply will be interrupted to your home or business for a short time. The shutdown will affect properties from numbers 1 – 58 Steyne Avenue, 2 – 5 Bath Street & 1A – 5 Queens Avenue, Plimmerton. To minimise further impact to businesses, preparation works are scheduled to take place between 7:00pm and 10:00pm at which is expected to generate some construction noise. We apologise in advance for the inconvenience but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum.

Water supply shutdown is scheduled to take place from 11:00 pm to 3:00 am, 12 August 2020

The water will be back on as soon as possible, but we recommend you fill up some containers with water before the time above and avoid running your dishwasher, washing machine or any appliances that use water. It’s best not to use water from your hot water cylinder either as the cylinder may get damaged if the water level gets too low.

When the water supply is turned back on, it’s a good idea to open a cold tap slowly and let it run for a minute or so to clear any air bubbles that may have entered the system. Air can cause the water to turn a milky colour, but this won’t affect the taste, and should clear quickly.

Update 3 August

This is scheduled to take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, 04 August 2020
