Update 31 July

As part of the investigation for the Flume Bridge we need to further investigate the access road within the Regional Park to ensure cranes and essential materials can get to the site.

A trial mock-rig resembling what will be used for construction will travel the road on the 6th of August to determine the suitability of the road. This may cause delays for park users as at some points of the road they may have to wait until there is a suitable time to pass.

We apologise for any inconvenience this essential work may cause.  Spotters will be in place to protect driver safety.

What's happening?

We will soon be getting under way with investigations for replacing the Kaitoke Flume bridge to improve the seismic resilience of this pipe.

The works involve investigation and surveying of the area, geotechnical drilling which will be followed by the construction phase.
