We're excited to provide Wellingtonians the opportunity to see first-hand how water is treated and how the supply system works by offering guided tours at Te Marua Water Treatment Plant on Sunday 1 March.
Members of the public can book in for a free tour where they can learn about where the water comes from, how it’s treated, and tour the treatment plant. Tours begin at 10am, running every hour with the last tour at starting at 2pm.
Bookings are essential, with a maximum of 20 people per tour. Unfortunately due to restricted access and stairways, this tour is not suitable for people of limited mobility. The tours are also not recommended for children under the age of 12.
This event will run rain or shine.
Parking at the treatment plant is not available. We ask visitors to please park at the Wellington Family Speedway, where a shuttle will transport visitors to and from the treatment plant.
Suitable walking footwear with closed toes must be worn. Please also bring a rain jacket if it is raining, as part of the tour is outdoors.
All bookings for tours are available via Eventbrite here.
With a maximum of 20 people per tour, bookings are essential.
